B. S. Nagesh is the founder of TRRAIN- Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India. Also, the Non-executive Vice-Chairman, Shoppers Stop he has been with department store since its inception in 1991 He has been the guiding force from the first store set-up in Andheri, Mumbai, where the store has now reached a national presence with 74 stores in the 35 cities spread across India. He is one of the pioneers of modern retail. He was selected as one of the top 50 managers in India in a survey of Managers who can influence Indian business in the 21st Century. He is the first Asian to be inducted into the “World Retail Hall of Fame” 2008 at the World Retail Congress 2008 conducted in Barcelona. Retail industry leaders and experts from across the Globe selected him in recognition of his supreme industry achievements.
