Biography

Gurcharan Das is an acclaimed author, leadership expert, and public intellectual, celebrated for his trilogy on India’s classical life goals: India Unbound (artha – material well-being), The Difficulty of Being Good (dharma – moral well-being), and Kama: The Riddle of Desire (kama – cherishing desire). A Harvard philosophy graduate (Phi Beta Kappa) and Harvard Business School alumnus (AMP), he led as CEO of Procter & Gamble India and Managing Director, P&G Worldwide (Strategic Planning), where he demonstrated visionary leadership and global business acumen. After an early retirement, he pursued writing full-time. His insights on leadership, ethics, and society appear in The Times of India, Financial Times, and Wall Street Journal. His other books include India Grows at Night and The Elephant Paradigm. Gurcharan Das is a sought-after speaker for leading corporations and is editing The Story of Indian Business series for Penguin.
