Swami Narasimhananda is a monk of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, founded by Swami Vivekananda in 1897. He currently serves as the head of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama in Kozhikode, Kerala. Formerly the editor of Prabuddha Bharata, the renowned English journal initiated by Swami Vivekananda in 1896, he has curated works such as the Vivekananda Reader, a compilation of the saint’s teachings. Swami Narasimhananda is a member of the UNESCO Chair’s International Research Group on Consciousness Studies at the Pontifical University, Rome, and serves as an editor for H-Net: Humanities and Social Sciences Online. A multilingual scholar and prolific writer, he has published in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Malayalam, Bengali, and Tamil. Widely respected as a speaker, he frequently addresses youth across India, particularly at premier institutions like the IITs, inspiring them with Vedantic thought and his deep insights into consciousness, ethics, and human development.
