Lieutenant General Deependra Singh Hooda (Retd.), PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM & Bar, ADC, is a distinguished former officer of the Indian Army with a career spanning over four decades. Commissioned into the 4th Battalion, 4th Gorkha Rifles in 1976, he served in diverse command and staff roles, culminating as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command. He played a pivotal role in critical operations, including the 2014 Chumar and Demchok standoff with China and the 2016 surgical strikes against terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control. His leadership also extended to international peacekeeping, serving as Chief Logistics Officer for the UN Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea. Post-retirement, Lt Gen Hooda serves as a Distinguished Fellow at the Delhi Policy Group and a keynote speaker on resilience, leadership, teamwork, and operational excellence, inspiring organizations to navigate complex challenges with strategic clarity and unity.
