Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM & Bar (Retd), is a decorated Indian Army veteran with a distinguished 40-year career, known for his leadership in conflict zones including J&K, Siachen, Sri Lanka, and UN missions in Africa. He commanded two corps, including the critical 15 Corps in Kashmir, and is regarded as a foremost expert on J&K, Pakistan, political Islam, and transnational terrorism. An alumnus of St Stephen’s College, King’s College London, and other top institutions, he champions the “Scholar Warrior” concept. A prolific columnist and speaker, he serves on multiple national think tanks and was appointed Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir and Member of India’s NDMA. In 2023, he led media communication during the successful Silkyara Tunnel rescue. Today, he actively engages with the corporate and academic worlds to foster strategic thinking and national security awareness.
