Biography

Suhel Seth is the founder and managing director of Counselage India, a consultancy firm he established in 2002. The firm is engaged in legal, accounting and auditing activities besides tax consultancy, market research as well as business and management consultancy. Born in Calcutta, Suhel went to school at St. Joseph’s College, Nainital and La Martiniere, Calcutta. He pursued his Bachelor of Arts in English and his Master's in International Relations from Jadavpur University. He is also an alumnus of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) of Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, and a member of the Harvard Business School Consultants Club. After completing his graduation, Suhel joined Contract Advertising. In 1996, Suhel started an advertising firm, Equus Red Cell, with his brother, Swapan Seth. In 1999, he collaborated with the ex-marketing director of Hindustan Lever, Shunu Sen and founded a marketing consultancy firm, Quadra Advisory. Together, they worked on the advertising campaign for the then Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Over the years, Suhel has successfully established himself as a known marketing expert, having worked with various multinational companies like TATA, Coca Cola, and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School, the IIMs and many more reputed management institutes of India. Suhel has authored five books and also been a columnist for reputed national dailies like The Financial Times, Business India, The Hindustan Times, and Indian Express. He is the board member of many international corporations such as Cavendish and RADA, and is on the regional boards of Citibank and Drayton Capital. Apart from these, he has acted in 167 plays, 7 films and delivered innumerable speeches. Suhel has been a long-time supporter and a patron of the Partition Museum (2016 – present), Ila Trust (1999 – present), and Indian Head Injury Foundation (2012 – present).
