Saachi Soni is a Mass Media and Communication student from Indraprastha College for Women, who has gone on to achieve laurels for herself and her country as India's spirited woman to have been selected for an expedition to Mount Everest by the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. She climbed the mighty Mt. Everest in 2013. She was also the first from the country to reach Mount Elbrus, Europe\'s highest peak. Throughout her teenage years, Saachi trained and scaled summits in Garhwal and Sikkim Himalayas like Mt Bandarpunch (21,600 ft), Mt Renok (18,000 ft), Mt DKD (17,800 ft), and Mt VC Roy (20,000 ft), before getting selected by the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling for the first-ever student expedition to Mt Everest (8.850 ft). She has also appeared for many interviews on News18, Good News, etc. Saachi attended an Adventure Mountaineering course at NIM, Uttarkashi, and a Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Course at HMI & NIM. She has covered Europe’s expedition for CNN IBN as a Citizen Journalist for a special telecast on Independence Day special. She has also been invited as a panelist for Narendra Modi’s Chai Pe Charcha on International Women’s Day. The expert is an alumnus from IP College for Women, Delhi University.
