Biography

Manika Batra is one of India’s most accomplished table tennis players and a trailblazer for women in the sport. A Commonwealth Games gold medallist and two-time Olympian, she made history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by becoming the first Indian woman to reach the Round of 32 in Olympic singles. Her international breakthrough came at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, where she won four medals, including two golds. Earlier, she claimed three gold medals at the 2016 South Asian Games and made her Olympic debut at Rio 2016. Known for her aggressive playing style and mental resilience, Manika continues to push Indian table tennis onto the global stage, aspiring to elevate the sport nationally.
