Biography

Major Devender Pal Singh is a retired officer in the Indian Army. He is a Kargil war veteran, and is known as the India's first blade runner. After falling a million times, he has picked himself up, and as of today has more than 18 marathons to his credit. No wonder he has rightfully earned himself a column in Limca Book of Records “People of the year 2016”. Singh has begun a support group for amputees, The Challenging Ones, in 2011 to encourage and enable people like him to strive to rise above their disability through sports. The group has won many laurels in Paralympics sports at national and international level.The motto of the group is “I might be slow, but I keep my flow. I won’t stop till I reach the top.”
