Chetna Sinha


Chetan Sinha is the Founder-Chairperson of Mann Deshi Mahila Bank (a micro-enterprise development bank) and Mann Deshi Foundation. She has served as a Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum in Davos (2018), Switzerland. Owing to her remarkable contribution to women\'s empowerment, she is also an elected member of the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare. Having worked with marginalized communities for more than 32 years, her advice on financial inclusion and women\'s banking has been sought by the Reserve Bank of India as well. Chetna has been awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar, India’s highest civilian award for women who work in the area of women’s empowerment. She has been honored with the Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar award for rural entrepreneurship and awarded lifetime membership with Ashoka Innovators for the Public. She was also selected for the first class of Yale University\'s World Fellows program 17 years ago. She has spoken on various platforms about women's empowerment and business. Ms. Sinha did her under graduation and masters in economics from Mumbai University.
