Soumita Basu is an inclusion strategist, entrepreneur, and award-winning founder of Zyenika, a pioneering adaptive fashion brand that designs inclusive clothing for people with disabilities and the elderly. Drawing on her lived experience of acquired disability, along with a background in policy research and communications, Soumita brings a unique, intersectional lens to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Beyond fashion, she advises brands on inclusive product design, accessibility, customer experience, employee sensitisation, and organisational policy. A recipient of the Global Honeybee Network Creativity and Inclusive Innovations Award, she is also a published author, storyteller, and advocate. Soumita regularly contributes to national and international conversations on DEI through TEDx talks, media appearances on CNBC and NDTV, and expert panels. Her latest work features in an anthology of feminist DEI-oriented fairytales, reflecting her passion for inclusive narratives and her commitment to reshaping spaces for equity and representation.
