Anupam Kher (born 7 March 1955, in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh) is an Indian actor and the former Chairman of Film and Television Institute of India. He is the recipient of two National Film Awards and eight Filmfare Awards. He has acted in over 500 films and many plays. Mainly working in Hindi films, he has also appeared in acclaimed international films. His biography Lessons Life Taught Me Unknowingly published on 5 August 2019 by Penguin Random House. Basis his experiences of the COVID-19 crisis, he has penned the book 'Your Best Day Is Today!' and is published by Hay House India on 5 December 2020. He is an acclaimed motivational speaker, who frequents film fests, lit fests, events, and conferences. In 1985, he married Bollywood actress Kirron Kher, who is a Member of Parliament from Chandigarh.
